Modelo de negocios para el Centro de Fomento Productivo del mueble y la madera Innovacentro para fortalecer a las pymes del sector maderero de fabricación de muebles del cantón Cuenca en el periodo 2017-2019

Abstract

The present project shows a clear and precise methodology, and above all, a tool to make the best decisions at the moment of its application. The proposed business model aims to inform unit Innovacentro of its current situation and for this an analysis was carried out that allowed to identify the strengths and weaknesses of Innovacentro. This analysis outlines the opportunities in the current market, and potential threats and how they affect decision making. In this context, it can be identified that Innovacentro can and should help the manufacturing of wood as this project is dedicated to strengthening and providing assistance to suppliers. As a starting point, a field study was conducted to analyze companies engaged in the manufacturing of furniture that exist in the city of Cuenca. This analysis reaches the conclusion that these companies effectively need help from the public sector; help to promote their activities improving their industry. By identifying certain shortcomings in the wood and furniture industry, there is an opportunity for proposals such as timely implementation of plans and strategies to improve significantly the sector on issues such as: production, training and technical support. The technology and innovation that Innovacentro can provide is a crucial factor that can improve many of these companies’ shortcomings.
