Resumen
The objective of the following investigation was to implement a workplace attendance control prototype using the fingerprints in the Eurocarrocerías company. The election of each device was based on functionality, price and availability. The prototype is formed by three blocks: the acquisition-processing block is formed by a Raspberry, an identification module r305, camera v1.3 module and an LCD, which has the function of guiding the employee through visual instructions during the process of obtaining two fingerprints and 100 facial images for the registering process. The storage block is formed by a Raspberry that was used to create a web server with an SQL injection protection and characters filtering system. Also, the web interface block, formed by a router which was used to configurate the WLAN for the data transmission by TCP between the two first blocks and the visualization of the information using the web page for devises with 802.11 n/g technology. The prototype functioning is based on the necessary data input of the employees to the database using the web interface with three options: erase, update and consult. For the registering process, the prototype verifies the face and fingerprint of the employee. This process lasts for about 8,26 seconds for each employee. After making several tests, the prototype operates at a minimum temperature of 20 C° and maximum 30 C°. The CPU usage of the Raspberry in each block never goes beyond the 50 % of activity. The system has a total energy consumption of 2300 mA in standby mode and 2440 mA when it is in action. That is why it was concluded that the system is safe. It is recommended for future works to create an energy system that can be charged by solar panels in order to make the prototype independent from the electrical line.
