Resumen
The object of the current graduation work is designing and building the tubular chassis of the buggy 4x4 hybrid car, then the following methodology is applied: Analyzing and collecting information based on the norms that rule this kind of frames either in material selection and construction parameters or dimensions, space and safety. Designing the chassis by means of the CAD and CAE software, Building the chassis by selecting the materials appropriately; The CAD modelling was done in Solidworks and the simulation of the behavior of the chassis to the static and dynamic effort was done in Ansys. In the selection of the materials, it was determined through destructive tests that the steel A500 grade B as well as the A36 are very common materials in the bodywork world so, it is an ideal material for the prototype structures of the buggies, since our case is not for competitiveness purposes, and if it was, Aluminum 6061T6 would be used due to its different aerodynamic properties, weight reduction, etc. The result obtained was a structure which fulfills the requirements of the norms used and with the parameters of design stated in the current graduation work. Among the most important we have weight, dimensions, space, ergonomics, safety, rigidity; as well as obtaining the static and dynamic analysis , having then a detailed study to analyze and compare the parameters stated by the Ecuadorian Norm INEN 1323 about bodywork manufacturing. In conclusion, the design and construction of the chassis was performed with no inconveniences and a reliable structure was obtained as a prototype for the hybrid 4x4 buggy being light and rigid in different types of lands. Finally, it is recommended to continue with the process of manufacturing by means of developing different graduation topics as the design and construction of the suspension system, adaptation to electrical engines, etc.
