Resumen
A comprehensive intervention was designed to reduce glycosylated hemoglobin in patients with moderate and high risk of diabetic foot, in the Central and Lindo neighborhoods of Shell Parish, a quasi-experimental, longitudinal, prospective, analytical study, through the application of socio-demographic survey, the evaluation of the foot in diabetic patients and the value of glycosylated hemoglobin before and after intervention, with a universe of 32 patients, the prevalence of female sex was 59.4%, an average age of 65.7 years, high risk of diabetic foot 56.3%.pre-intervention glycosylated hemoglobin values were inadequate in 71.9% of patients with an average value of 8.05%, the integral intervention was applied where glycosylated hemoglobin values in patients decreased to 53.1%.with an average value of 7.5%, it is concluded that there is a significant relationship between the risk of diabetic foot and inadequate glycosylated hemoglobin values, the intervention significantly demonstrated a decrease in glycosylated hemoglobin values in eight patients as a result of strict metabolic control in patients with moderate and high risk of diabetic foot, it is recommended the implementation of this intervention in institutions that provide first level health services in order to reduce the prevalence of diabetic foot.
