Resumen
The objective of the current case study is to analyze the risk factors, the etiology and the presentation form of Lymphangitic Carcinomatosis, in order to be able to diagnose, treat and predict it. Lymphangitic Carcinomatosis presents an uncommon and rare entity, characterized by the diffuse lymphatic malignant cells colony-forming, secondary to a primary neoplastic disease; from different organs such as lung, breast, prostate, stomach, pancreas, among the most frequently affected. We analyze a 49-year-old male patient, with no history of smoking, with a family history of neoplastic diseases, who is taken into the General Hospital of Riobamba; with a long-term respiratory pattern (1month), characterized by productive cough with greenish expectoration, night sweats and quantifiable weight loss (12 pounds), without response to antibiotic and corticosteroid ambulatory treatment; whose patient is admitted in the afore-mentioned hospital, over the course of 10 days for in-hospital treatment, and the performance of complementary clinical and para-clinical studies, in addition to clinical staging. Concluding with a definitive neoplastic diagnosis of Pulmonary Lymphangitic Carcinomatosis secondary to stage IV lung adenocarcinoma, without metastasis to other organs. Due to the antecedents, clinical and results of the examinations, the initiation of the palliative treatment based on chemotherapy with Paclitaxel / Carboplatin / Bevacizumab was demonstrated for 6 cycles, the clinical trials clearly improve significantly and there is evidence of the size reduction observed in the primary tumor.
