Resumen
This study aimed to present a machining alternative for the elaboration of parts or instruments using 5-axis CNC machine tools to replace certain instruments that are manufactured by casting. The present work aims to serve as base for later studies with a specific purpose the use of software in addition to the use of the five-axis CNC machine. For the design and simulation of the core cartridge type impeller prototype for Chevrolet LUV 2.2 / 2.5, various methodologies were analyzed as well as research related to the subject. The design was focused mainly on three specialized software such as CAD, CAE, CAM. The impeller has been modeled according to a scale that is feasible with this study related to the engineering requirements. Later the CAD modeling was carried out, it was imported the advanced CAE software in which the model is evaluated to presented different analysis to validate this design. Finally, the model was made in CAM software in charge of generating all the machining operations and subsequent generation of the G-CODE in which a NC language is obtained to get in this way a prototype of the impeller by means of the 5-axis CNC machine, it is advisable to carry it out on a large scale. If the commercialization of the same is projected to generate profitability, it is also recommended to use the appropriate post processor for the machine to be used as well as to carry out the simulation in the 3D modeling to verify that there are no collisions between the tools and the table in which is going to be mechanized.
