Resumen
The present investigation proposed: evaluate gasometric variables of nine provenances of arboreal Gmelina Roxb (Melina), in the Estación Experimental Central de la Amazonia (EECA), San Carlos parish, canton Joya de los Sachas, province of Orellana, using a provenance trial all from Costa Rica, established in June 2015 with a completely randomized block design (DBCA), with three repetitions. Each of the provenances was a different treatment coded as follows, (XA, XAI, XAG, XAS, 151, 164, 167, 179, 236). We evaluated dasometric variables such as diameter at the height of the neck (10cm above the ground), diameter at chest height (1.30cm above the ground) and total height of the tree, where it stresses that at the end of the research period (30 months), XAS in (DAC and DAP) with averages of 22.39 and 18.57 respectively and in total height, XAG with an average of 16.13 m. The incidence of climate and soil on “Melina” development was analyzed, in which it was concluded that precipitation and temperature are proportional to growth, just as edaphoclimatic conditions are within the optimum range recommended by some authors. It was phenotypically characterized (form factor, stem shape, bifurcations, angle of insertion of the branches, number of branches, treetop shape, treetop vigor, position in the canopy and presence of pests) rated as 1 as bad and 6 as excellent, which did not show significant differences between provenances and repetitions, except for the shape of the treetop, no doubt the differences that exist between provenances are not marked. We must remember that this research is long term, therefore the work done is one of the first stages of the trial.
