Resumen
The objective of the work is to compare the transmission with the terrestrial digital television
standard adopted by Ecuador, ISDB-Tb, without spatial diversity techniques (SISO), as the norm
indicates; and the transmission with a modified standard, which has diversity techniques (MIMO).
Through computational simulations, transmissions of a bit frame are carried out through the study
standard, from which values of signal-to-noise ratios (SNR) are obtained, which will serve as the
basis for the comparison; the work consists of modifying the simulated ISDB-Tb system, in such
a way that it allows the insertion of spatial diversity techniques, which once achieved allows to
make new transmissions of the same plot previously used, to obtain other values of signal-tonoise
ratios,

presented between SISO and MIMO 2x2 systems. This research shows that it is possible to
combat the hostility of the radio propagation medium, mitigating the consequences of multipath
interference, thanks to the implementation of spatial diversity techniques.
