Resumen
An efficient heating system of drinking water by electromagnetic induction was developed. The proposed project consists of two stages: the electromagnetic induction heater and an ON-OFF controller for temperature regulation, being this easy to install, operate and transport; The system consists of an electromagnetic induction circuit which heats a steel pipe and this in turn transfers the heat to a small flow of water which is stored in a container, a selector with which the user can select the desired temperature of the water, a flow meter that informs the existing flow, two solenoid valves, one in the water inlet and the other in the outlet which controls the passage of the liquid to the outside only when this has reached the previously selected temperature avoiding the waste of water, until the system reaches that temperature. The control system has a screen to observe the temperature of the liquid in the container and the selected temperature. To guarantee a constant output, it has a hysteresis of 3 °C. From the tests carried out, it was observed that the system has an electrical efficiency higher than 80% and when compared with a conventional system based on resistance, it generates an energy and monetary saving of 35%. It is concluded that the high efficiency produced by the prototype induction system is capable of providing both short and long term benefits, considering the energy and economic savings generated for the user, with this it is expected to have a social, economic and environmental impact on the sector of the heating of drinking water, where the conventional systems show a high waste of energy. It is recommended to create a friendly interface with the user or in turn develop an application for a smartphone that allows to control of the system at distance.
