Resumen
The current investigation proposes: to determine a seeds bank extracted through the samples of the soil of the Tambo forest, located in the sector of Palictahua, canton Penipe, province of Chimborazo; with the help of a GPS, the points where the two transects were zigzag-shaped with four sub-transects each were georeferenced. The soil samples were taken from the vertex of the transects, every three meters. At the final site, the samples collected were given the right conditions of light, temperature, and humidity, the final test in 8 months, achieving that establish 279 individuals, divided into 11 families, 18 sorts, and 20 species. The family with the highest value of the Urticaceae family with 190 individuals. The family that presented the greatest wealth due to its number of species was Asteraceae. The species with a greater value of importance was Boehmeria Fallax with 129 individuals, this is because it is a pioneer species and be forming part of a mountainous forest it is common to find this type of species within its vegetation. The seed bank has a density of 293 seeds / m2. We analyzed the diversity of the population established through the Simpson Index with 0.76 and Shannon with 1.8, thus determining that this community is moderately diverse. When determining the Similarity Index, it is established that there is a moderately similar community with a 46.15% similarity between the two transects, sharing 6 species among them.
