Plan estratégico de la carrera de Minas, extensión Morona Santiago, de la Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo, período 2018 -2022

Abstract

The objective of this degree work is to prepare a Strategic Plan for the Mining Career, Morona Santiago Extension, of the Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo, period 2018-2022., Seeking to increase administrative management, this research took place in the city of Macas, province of Morona Santiago, where multidisciplinary work teams were formed between teachers and students of Mining career, to whom workshops and survey applications were conducted, in the same way to administrative staff and extension workers, including an interview with the Director; In addition, the SWOT matrix was applied, which allowed finding the following findings: lack of specific laboratories for the Mining career, the lack of an approved and adequate organizational structure for the extension, an increase in the arsenal of specific books for the Mining career, the lack of links with society, the lack of stability of hired teachers and the lack of training in the area of studies related to the career of Mines. Through the situational diagnosis, the different opportunities and threats of the career were analyzed and to be able to establish the different strategies that allow adjusting to the current reality of the mining sector in Ecuador and helping to achieve the ESPOCH objectives, as Higher Education entity who wishes to contribute with his professionals to the improvement of the country. An inadequate strategic planning prevents short and long-term decisions, affecting to the administrative management of the institution, so it is recommended to disseminate, implement and evaluate the fulfillment of the Strategic Plan that has been done with hard work together for the career of Mines, Morona Santiago Extension and thus improve the investigation and contribution of the student community to the institution.
