Resumen
The objective of this project is to perform a survival analysis of patients admitted to Alausí Hospital with symptoms of COVID-19. There are few studies on this pandemic that allow determining the death of the patient, the database was provided by the 06D02 Health District, recording the dates of the test and the dates of the final diagnosis of the patients. The methodology used in the research was the comparison of Kaplan Meir Survival Curves. An exploratory análisis of the relevant variables was carried out, it was determined that the average age of the patients is 38 years, also the type of test with the highest proportion is the sputum type test with 64.8%. Of the 125 patients, 27 presented another pathology, the most frequent pathologies being gastritis with 8% and hypertension with 7.2%. The technique used resulted in 6 patients who died from COVID -19 of which, 5 of them are male and one female. After doing the survival analysis using the stratifying variable that is gender, it is found that 98.2% have the probability of dying, the median time is 7 days with p-value of 0.1 where the global comparison model of curves indicated that there is no significant difference between gender with a confidence level of the 95%. This study will contribute to analyze how many people die from COVID -19 with respect to their gender. It is concluded that male patients die from the seventh day of admission and women on the sixth day, the information can also be analyzed using COX regression and it can be compared which is the best technique.
