Resumen
The present work consisted of adapting a programmable electronic injection system in a vehicle with a carburetor system (Mitsubishi L200) in order to increase the power and torque of the vehicle, reducing fuel consumption and in turn emitting less polluting gases into the environment. All the hardware necessary for a multipoint injection system to work was adapted by performing the pertinent calculations for the design of an intake manifold and selection of components such as injectors, fuel pump, etc. With the components installed according to the needs of the engine, the software was programmed to obtain a mixture as close to the stoichiometric or ideal mixture of 14.7 parts of air for 1 of gasoline. A dynamometer was used to measure the power to the wheels and with the help of a broadband oxygen sensor and a gas analyzer, different measurements were taken of the gases emitted from the engine by the exhaust pipe. With the implementation of the injection system, an increase in power of more than double was achieved and with a saving of 60.4% in fuel consumption, this saving is accompanied by a 45% reduction in hydrocarbon emissions. In conclusion, a more environmentally friendly vehicle was obtained, it consumes less fuel thus helping the owner's economy and with a considerable increase in torque and power. A prior check of the engine is recommended, as it must be ensured that it is in optimal condition before programming and, above all, that there are no problems when the dynamometer tests are carried out.
