Resumen
The objective of this study was to determine the feasibility for the implementation of a boulevard at the Unidad Nacional avenue in Riobamba city, thus designing an accessible space improving the mobility of the sector. For the gathering of information, these surveys and observation files were used, research instruments helped to know the perception of the citizens about the state of the infrastructure of the area to intervene, likewise through the bibliographic analysis it was determined that according to the INEC 2018 in the urban green index in the province of Chimborazo, the city of Riobamba presents the lowest value with 2.07 m2 per inhabitant, this means 77% less than recommended; The need to have purely pedestrian spaces is evidenced in the 95% survey responses. The city must be thought of for pedestrians as fundamental in the transportation pyramid, they are the ones who generate social relations that in turn contribute to socio-economic development. A fluid pedestrian route is planned, so it is proposed to close the crossing of Duchicela street on Saturdays and Sundays in the afternoon from 12:01 to 18:00, the vision is to create a walking circuit in Riobamba city, generating connection points with the city public spaces. Under this scenario, 100% of the work will be recovered in 10 years through CEM; so the project is economically feasible; It is recommended for the design of the boulevard to be based on Book IV of the Architecture and Construction Standards of the Riobamba GADM; This standard establishes the minimum dimensions, and how the functional and construction characteristics that pedestrian traffic lanes must accomplish.
