Resumen
This research objective is to carry out the design and implementation of two technologies in a
home environment in order to demonstrate a practical frame where the two technologies can
coexist by exploring the most recent investigations about hybrid networks. The networks
combine the Light Fidelity (LIFI) with Wireless Fidelity (WIFI) of radio frequency. From the
analysis and comprehension of the performance of these heterogeneous systems a design and
implementation of a new hybrid prototype was proposed. Firstly, requirements were established
for the communication of this type, then an integral scheme of each stage was designed with the
most appropriate devices to our necessities. Finally, the construction of hardware and the
development of software were carried out to establish the duplex transmission. As a result of
the analysis and design of this heterogeneous prototype an ascendant transmission of characters
by means radio frequency modules ((WIFI communication) and a descendant transmission of
information by pulse of light (LIFI communication) were gotten. A close integration of two
technologies which allows WIFI network download to free high quantity of resources for more
mobile users was shown. The stable users were assisted by LIFI communication, so both
technologies could support each other efficiently improving the individual performance. It is
recommended to look for alternatives of updated devices to improve the design of prototype for
getting the proposal standards by the enterprises offering this technology and continue with the
study of these systems mentioned in this present research. These could be the best solution of
the main problems of the wireless networks of the future generation.
