Resumen
This project aims to recondition a Borghi and Saveri eddy current dynamometer brands located at the School of Mechanics of the Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo, to obtain the torque, power, and specific fuel consumption curves of an electronic injection engine digitally. Bibliographic research of concepts related to the operation of this machine, which dates back to the 70s, was carried out to meet the objective. The condition of the different dynamometer systems was evaluated and their maintenance was performed. Most of the systems were upgraded through the experimental method, by installing an electronic injection engine and adapting different sensors that take physical variables and convert them into electrical signals. A DAQ 6009 data acquisition card and an Arduino NANO board were also installed to manage the electronics. These processors and the programming were placed in a control box and a laptop computer, resulting in a userfriendly graphical interface and the total enablement of the dynamometer. After obtaining the characteristic curves of an electronic injection engine, digitally, which show the power and torque that characterizes the test engine. It concluded that the dynamometer is suitable to be used by the students of Automotive Engineering in their engine practices. It is recommended when operating the dynamometer, always maintain safety standards. As well as to perform the respective maintenance before and after using the equipment.
