Resumen
The purpose of this research work was the Design of a prototype of hybrid fruit dehydrator for the Andean region, which use both solar energy and electrical energy. Through bibliography, the fruits to be dehydrated were determined (Cities, 2014). The prototype design was determined through surveys carried out on a representative population; the results were used in the QFD matrix. The dimensioning and testing of the dehydrator was performed using Ansys software to know if the model and material were adequate. For its construction, it was used the inductive method that collected elements and devices. Blackberry, golden berry, apple and strawberry were selected; due to the demand that exists in the harvest season and the consumer's need for not having them when they require it. With the QFD matrix it was determined that the characteristics of the prototype were: 10 drying trays, 8 octagon resistances, 7 Kg of product at a temperature of 40-60ºC. It was concluded that the dimensioning of these characteristics were correct, which allowed the construction of the dehydrator with elements such as: solar panel, load inverter, energy accumulator, among others. It is recommended: do not operate the equipment on rainy days as it may affect the correct operation of the solar panel or with high humidity in the environment.
