Resumen
The objective of this study was to evaluate the use of different levels of electrolytes (potassium, inositol, chlorides) in growth and fattening stages in COBB 500 broiler chickens subjected to heat stress, in the city of Macas, Morona District, province of Morona Santiago. In this field research all the chickens were of the Cobb 500 broiler line, which carried the same nutrition indexes, as well as English feeding metrics, both for the beginning and for the different stages. The 160 chickens were separated into groups of 10, and placed in a 1.5 meters space for their total development, ensuring the necessary space per area and rearing area. Likewise, information about previous studies was reviewed and chicken production parameters were evaluated. A simple completely randomized design was used for the growth and fattening stages of the chicken, with different levels of electrolyte inclusion (50%, 100% and 150%) compared to a control treatment. As a result, the final weight (1202.50 g), weight gain (1152.75 g), and carcass weight (1076.25 g), reached the highest responses when 150% electrolytes were added to the water. It is concluded that the use of electrolytes contributes positively to the health of the animals, and improves the productive parameters of the poultry farming sector. It is recommended the use of minerals in the formulation of chicken diets, with higher nutrient concentrations, as this achieves the maximum growth potential.
