Resumen
The objective of this project was to adapt a programmable electronic injection system to an internal combustion engine with a carburetor and carry out a comparative analysis of gas emissions at an ideal stoichiometric ratio. For which emission tests were carried out at idle speed at half load and full load, various tests of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons, and lambda factor were carried out allowing to know the level of contamination in which the internal combustion engine is found. Through the experimental method was made a comparative dispersion graph for the visual analysis of the emissions.
Moreover, for the statistical analysis, the T-type test was performed for averages of two paired samples with 90% reliability at a significance level of 0.05, resulting in a significant difference between the programmable electronic injection engine and the carburetor engine. The electronic injection engine stands out for working with an ideal stoichiometric ratio at idle, half load and full load, so that the gases expelled by the engine are less polluting because the fuel supply will be programmed to supply the proportions adequate and correct at all times of its operation. It concluded that the polluting gases emissions decreased notably,
obtaining a lower level of contamination in the electronic injection engine. It is recommended for future studies to develop a comparative analysis of polluting gas emissions from the electronic injection engine with super fuel versus the electronic injection engine with Ethanol fuel. To carry out a statistical analysis to observe the behavior of polluting gases in an engine working with a friendlier fuel to the environment like Ethanol.
