Resumen
The objective was to analyze the reliability, availability and maintainability of the Hyundai H21/32 generation units of the Thermoelectric Power Plant Quevedo II. It is imperative to define and measure the reliability, availability and maintainability indexes (CDM) of the Hyundai H21/32 engines, a fundamental part for the generation of electric energy in the Thermoelectric Power Plant Quevedo II. Although hydroelectric production has been prioritized in Ecuador, it is necessary to diversify the generation matrix and in this sense thermoelectric generation represents a great opportunity for improvement. To determine the CDM indexes, historical maintenance records with data from 2012 to 2016 have been used, in addition, a statistical approach was used through the Weibull distribution to know the probability of failure. As a case study, the N. 60 engine was analyzed since it is the one with the highest failure rate. An average time between failures of 662 hours and an average repair time of 140 hours was calculated, resulting in a reliability of more than 93 %, availability of around 83 % and maintainability of 26.48 %, applying the IEC 61703 standard. Thanks to the analysis developed, a machine tool workshop was implemented for the repair and reconditioning of engine parts, which plays an important role in maintenance management since it allows determining the work flow to be carried out in the generation units, as well as a dynamic balancing equipment to address the most critical element, the turbocharger. Finally, maintenance personnel were trained on the importance of carrying out maintenance tasks in accordance with the maintenance schedule provided by the manufacturer.
