Resumen
The research project aimed to design a protocol for the active dispensing of antibiotics for outpatients who came to the pharmacy service of Centro de Salud Machachi, province of Pichincha, where the methodology used for the study was of a Prospective observational during July - August 2020, two phases were carried out in the study; the first part of the study was the evaluation of the current dispensing of antibiotics in the pharmacy of Centro de Salud Machachi, and the second part was the identification of the factors that influence medication errors, in the current dispensing of antibiotics in the pharmacy, was applied for the first part of the study a check list that was validated by trained teachers from ESPOCH. The results obtained in the study showed that there is no adequate and correct dispensing in the service, since the pharmacy assistant is the only person who is there full time in the pharmacy, the absence of the Pharmaceutical Biochemical professional does not allow adequate dispensing of medications. Therefore, the information that the patient receives in the pharmacy may cause long- term bacterial resistance, out of 450 prescriptions, 63.6% received at least one error in these, the most frequent being the indications. With the results obtained for a possible solution, an active dispensing protocol was developed for antibiotics. It is concluded that according to the results obtained the rational use is not promoted antibiotics or bacterial resistance, which makes it impossible to meet the therapeutic objective.
