Resumen
The objective of this research was to ergonomically evaluate the administrative area of the
Municipal GAD of Cumandá by applying the Rosa method, where staff remain in a seated
position, in front of their computers during long working hours, ignoring the inconvenience that
can generate inappropriate postures, repetitive movements, workload among other things. The
detection of musculoskeletal symptoms in the neck, shoulder, dorsal, elbow and wrist regions was
carried out using the Kuorinka Nordic Questionnaire consisting of 11 questions that determine
symptoms in the worker's body before they become musculoskeletal disorders and the ROSA
(Rapid Office Strain Assessment) method, assessed postural risks by identifying priority
intervention areas in the office. Kuorinka questionnaire results found that 78% of respondents
suffer from these discomforts, in the neck region with 67%, followed by the dorsal region with
64%, the wrist with 40%, the shoulder 33% and the elbow with 16%. The Rosa method showed
that 41% of the positions assessed correspond to a very high risk, 28% a high risk, and 31% at an
improved risk, then 69% have a score equal to or greater than 5 are therefore considered as high
risks. It was identified that the factors that most affect workers are poor postures and stress so
musculoskeletal symptoms significantly affect staff health. It is concluded that the level of
exposed risk of workers is high, directly affecting job performance. It is recommended to
implement the preventive ergonomic risk plan in order to preserve the health of workers in the
GAD administrative area.
