Resumen
The objective of this research project is to develop a mathematical model of the photocatalytic reaction with titanium oxide (IV) for the evaluation of the cyanide removal efficiency in the Orenas mining company. The mathematical modeling it was obtained through kinetic evaluation of the Photocatalic reaction of a test substance mixed with titanium oxide (IV) at a concentration of 1 g/L enhanced with three rare types of soil: Europium (III) nitrate pentahydrate, Lanthanum (III) Chloride Heptahydrate and Cerium (III) Chloride heptahydrate. In addition, a combined system with hydrogen peroxide was used to increase photooxidation. The mathematical model was developed with the GNU Octave program through the parameters of the Langmuir-Hinshelwood equation. According to the mathematical models developed, the most convenient proposal was selected to treat the contaminant, where the treatment of titanium oxide (IV) plus lanthanum chloride (III) Heptahydrate at 95.8% presents the highest efficiency in removing cyanide present. as a contaminant in the test substance. Finally, the validation of the proposal was carried out with statistical analysis with the results of other studies established in several bibliographic sources, resulting in the model not presenting significant variation compared to other models, so it can be indicated that the model is valid. The model had an average deviation of 16% compared to other authors; so it is considered acceptable.
