Resumen
The objective of the research was to evaluate the temperature effect (T°) of drying on the residues of the Passiflora edulis husk on the kinetics of degradation and mitigation of greenhouse gases CH4 and CO2 (methane and carbon dioxide) enteric. The in situ ruminal degradation of the nutrients was estimated following the methodology of the Nylon Bag. The gas production was quantified with a precision analyzer. Four drying temperatures were evaluated at: 60, 90, 120 and 150 °C. The highest digestibility of the dry and organic matter was obtained with T1: 60 °C with values of 75 and 77.4% respectively, the degradation of dry, organic and neutral detergent fiber presented values of 39.4, 32.0 and 11.7 respectively. The husk of Passiflora edulis exposed to T1: 60 °C, was the treatment that presented the lowest production of gases in vitro, which could be due to the fact that, it maintained the content of reserve polysaccharides, which improved the ruminal maintenance. It can be concluded that drying at high temperatures (150 °C) the passion fruit residues decreases ruminal digestion and increases the production of greenhouse gases in ruminants, so it is recommended to dry the residues of Passiflora edulis at 60 °C.
