Resumen
The purpose of the current research was to characterize the bacteria present in Laguna Negra located in Sangay National Park, Chimborazo province. Five superficial water samples were collected at different points of the lagoon. For the strain estimation, the dilutions: 10-4, 10-5 and 10-6, were considered and a total of 81 strains were planted in a Plate Count Agar (PCA) growth medium at room temperature, 37 ° C and 45 ° C. To evaluate the stability and adaptation of the strains, three replications of each one of the dilutions were made and inoculated with the surface seeding technique in two different media: industrial butter and skim milk, based on the PCA medium at room temperature and at 37 ° C. 13 clones were selected, since they tested positive for biochemical tests where some possible genres such as Pseudomonas, Flavobacterium, Microccacea and Psychrobacter were obtained. The evaluation of the proteolytic and lipolytic activity was carried out through qualitative methods, with the observation of color change around the strains, obtaining the presence of clearance halos in two bacterial strains at 13 °C. It was concluded that the water in the lagoon is mainly composed by a microbiota of psychrophilic bacteria.
