The present investigation proposes to evaluate three methods to determine the hydraulic requirements in the cultivation of carrots (Daucu carotya L.) var. Chantenay in Macaji, canton Riobamba, province of Chimborazo. A design of Complete Random Blocks (DBCA) was made and adapted to drip irrigation conditions. Three treatments and three repetitions were included, according to the humidity of the soil (T1) Evaporation tank 25%, T2 empirical formulas 25% and T3 Lysimeter at the time of drainage). The results showed that the different sheets influenced the carrot yield. According to the application of water, the best treatment was treatment 3 (lysimeter) with a volume of 404.76mm, thus obtaining a yield of 61.49ton / ha. The evaluated variables were: percentage of emergence, height of the plant, diameter of the shoulder of the root, length of the root, weight of the root, yield, percentage of dry matter, correlation between the water used and yield (water footprint). Four phenological stages were established for cultivation from sowing to harvesting; initial stage (days to emergence of the plants), stage of development (days to the formation of true leaves) intermediate stage (days to the thickening of the root), final stage (days to harvest). The kc (culture coefficient) was adjusted according to the lysimeter for each of the phenological stages; initial of 0.83, development of 1.06, intermediate with 1.02 and the final stage of 0.86, as a result of the replacement of irrigation water at the time of drainage. Keywords: WATER REQUIREMENTS - CARROT CROPS - DRIP IRRIGATION - IRRIGATION WATER.
