Resumen
The aim of this research was to manage ergonomic risks using the ROSA (Rapid Office Strain Assessment) method for the administrative area and the RULA (Rapid Upper Limb Assessment) method for the operational area of the Autonomous Decentralized Municipal Government of Lago Agrio Canton, in order to identify whether the 560 municipal civil servants in the public institution suffer from muscular-skeletal discomfort caused by overexertion, manual handling of loads, repetitive movements or forced postures. This was carried out using the Kuorinka Nordic questionnaire, with sociodemographic questions and questions about ailments, aches or discomfort in different areas of the body. With the results obtained, it was determined that more than 25% of the personnel with an age greater than or equal to 10 years present pain and discomfort in the dorsal-lumbar area of the back and the forearms-wrists-hands. In the ROSA method, it was determined that 68.33% of those evaluated require some type of action, therefore, a direct relationship of the high scores with the results of the chair evaluation is established. For the RULA method, the 24.82% of the posture is acceptable, the 43.36% is required to inquire into the causes of the posture, the 21.99% measures must be applied in a short period of time and with the 9.93% it is required to take immediate actions denoting inclinations greater than 20º in the trunk and neck. It is therefore recommended that preventive management measures be implemented in the event of the most serious or frequently identified situations in the studies, such as the change and maintenance of desk chairs, purchase of footrest, training plan and health surveillance plan.
