Resumen
The current degree work's objective was to apply the RCM methodology to determine the failure and effect modes in the machines of the Pavi’s footwear company, a company dedicated to the manufacture of footwear, located in Cevallos Cantón. The purpose was to determine the múltiple failure modes and their effects with to generate preventive, inspection, and monitoring activities for each equipment with planned frequencies, in addition to determining its and resources, the purpose is reducing the number of failures already existing in the system because certain failures affect the health of the operators, based on the criticality analysis of the equipment through a quantitative evaluation. In order to maintain control of the assets, an inventory was carried out including technical coding of all the machinery, following the guidelines of the ISO 14224 standard. Information pertaining to the characteristics plates of each machine was collected, according to the footwear process and where they are installed. The technical sheets were prepared in accordance with the ISO 14224 standard, creating a reliable database for future improvements within the maintenance plan. In addition to inserting an ideology of continuous improvement fostering the growth of this industry. For a broader and more complete work, the maintenance plan was drawn up together with its annual budget. As a result, a maintenance plan was obtained based on the conditions of the factory to guarantee its correct operation, the necessary resources were defined to carry out preventive activities such as: manpower, materials, another important point was the development of maintenance activities for preventing failures that may cause workplace accidents. Finally, it was recommended to train the intemal operator of the institution, in order to improve the respond capacity to any unforeseen failure and implementing the culture of preventive maintenance.
