The objective of this study is to validate the structural shielding in the diagnostic and radiopharmaceutical production areas of the PET Cyclotron Technical Unit, for which several points of interest were taken to monitor them and verify the structural shielding with the shielding calculation and radiometric survey. International protocols were used together with ionizing radiation detectors, in this case a Geiger - Müller detector, Thermo Scientific RadEye model G-10 and a Ludlum model 9DP ionization chamber were used. The equations used for both the shielding and radiometric survey calculations are adapted to the study's own considerations; this was done manually and through Excel templates. The results show that all the barriers of the rooms of the PET Cyclotron Technical Unit have values that are within the tolerance range both in the shielding calculation and in the radiometric survey, the rooms with the highest dose rate are the hot room and PET/CT room, and the rooms with the lowest dose rate are the PEM rooms, radiopharmacy laboratory and physical-chemical control, however, they guarantee the safety and radiological protection of the POE, patients and public within the Unit. It is concluded that all structural shielding is safe and does not allow dose restrictions to be exceeded. It is recommended in this study to respect dose minimization techniques (distance, time and shielding) especially when transporting radioactive material and when patients are injected.
