Resumen
The objective of the study was to analyze the influence of hemoglobin on growth indicators in children aged from 25 to 29 months and treated at the Nanegal Health Center along 2016; as it is a high risk and nutritional vulnerability stage with higher incidence in Latin America despite the knowledge of its etiology and the provision of information and supplies in programs and projects executed by both public and private entities that offer low-cost interventions, these nutritional problems have not been overcome yet, due to its multi-causality. This is a transversal study with a retrospective design that uses inductive, analytical and systemic methods, within a quantitative approach. The sample is built up by 305 children with hemoglobin data and growth indicators as well as results of copro-parasitic exams. After a descriptive and correlational analysis, in relation to hemoglobin and body mas index (BMI)/age distributed by sex; it was found that the results were statistically significant (p=<, 0001.) In the relationship between hemoglobin and the weight/age indicator distributed by sex, it was found that 52.92% of female preschoolers had low weight for that age accompanied by mild anemia, while 55.03% of male preschoolers presented weight//age and at the same time mild anemia. The results were statistically significant, the value of p was <, 0001. Concluding that hemoglobin influences growth indicators. It is recommended to take preventive policies, provide nutritional education and perform nutritional, clinical and laboratory controls.
