In the research behind this document has been determined how the substitution of the cement for residual stone dust, product of the Chota's river stones cut, has an effect on the mechanic properties of a mortar used for ceramic glue. Firstly, dust was analyzed with an X-ray Diffraction test, which contains minerals such as plagioclase and others that can also be found in cement, such as quartz and hematite. Therefore, with this information, a control dosage was stated, which does not contain residual dust and other dosages where the cement was substituted with percentages of 5%, 10%, 15%, 25% and 35% of dust that passed through a sieve No. 200. These samples were evaluated in four laboratory tests, which are compression resistance test, traction resistance test, slip determination test and setting determination time test, these tests are necessary to grade the mortar at issue and conclude that the mortar with residual dust does work as ceramic glue, the mix being more efficient with 35% of dust, being that, even though its Mechanical properties are being affected, they still fulfil the minimum requirements of the pertinent normatives.
