Abstract
This project analyzes the benefit and impact that school texts have on planning in the
curricular potential of school textbook to help and promote student learning. In
addition, valuing textbooks is an important strategy for the contribution they can give
to the conversion of the curriculum and its application in the planning. Based on the
information obtained, the appropriate methodological strategies will be searched for
the math class. In the selection of math textbooks, which will be used during the
development of the school year, academic reasons must prevail, so it is necessary to
weigh qualities such as criteria, innovative factors and the mediation between the
curriculum and teacher performance in class. The curricular material, the textbooks
represent a specific organization of the teaching processes, based on a planning that
supports its use and gives it a transcendent meaning within the educational field. The
subject is approached from the curricular theory by virtue of the fact that the
curriculum constitutes the bridge between the theoretical and practical, a link that is
exhibited before the use of the textbook.
