Resumen
The present study is an analysis of the school text of Social Sciences called; Alto
rendimiento"; used by students in the Second Year of Basic Education in the Federico
Engels"; Private Educational Unit, in the city of Quito. The analysis is based on the
curricular elements, the inclusive approach and the use made of it in the classroom.
The research is organized around the need to demonstrate how the Social Science text
ensures learning and promotes education for all. The Ecuadorian education within the
regulations states that education should favor an inclusive education, which focuses
on the diversity of learning of students.
The school textbook is one of the educational resources most used in the processes of
teaching learning, the lack of knowledge or lack of compliance with the inclusive
approach could be compromising education for all.
For the analysis, the criteria that guide inclusive education are used, such as:
autonomy, leadership, accessibility, participation, the elimination of barriers, and the
curricular components that structure the text: objectives, methodology, contents, and
evaluation. The descriptive, quantitative method will be used for the investigation;
tools such as: direct observation, based on an analysis matrix; and the field diary are
used.
The main results are that the school textbook cannot be used as a unique learning
resource, rather it is a support that helps teachers to create their own learning situations,
finding paths and techniques that favor inclusive education.
