Abstract

This article analyzes and describes the role played by Cuenca's woman journalists in the second decade of the 21st century, their trials, and challenges; it gathers the testimony of four female communicators who reveal how social stereotypes and gender prejudices have limited their professional development and the myths that they have had to overcome in their struggle to take up professional positions.
