The present analysis entitled "TIC as a strategic didactic resource for the teaching-learning of Social Sciences and its influence in the third year of General Basic Education in an educational unit in the north of Quito”, aims to analyze the use of TIC as a didactic strategy in the teaching-learning process of Social Sciences. TIC is considered as strategic didactic resources that contribute considerably to the teaching and therefore also to the student in the teaching-learning process, allowing a better quality based on the activities carried out in the classroom. The problem of the work was born based on the scarcity of TIC resources in the teaching-learning process of Social Sciences, so that very traditional classes based only on the blackboard and the book were denoted, which caused students to be disinterested in the subject and always remained as passive subjects. In order to carry out this research work, a quantitative methodology was used with a phenomenological approach based on current problems and emphasizing new developments in society, through previously structured surveys to teachers. Finally, based on the findings, it could be evidenced that teachers know about TIC, but not the diverse functionality as strategic resources that TIC have in education, allowing students' learning to be successful, because it is mainly focused on their interests.
