When a solar PV generation system is
implemented, it is necessary to employ a
converter. It is employed in order to join the
DC power generated by PV panels and the
AC network. Those conversion elements
are considered as an infrastructure stage.
This stage could be susceptible to internal
failures occurrence. The failures can affect
the overall performance of the power
system. There are lots of techniques and
methods that allow the detection and
identification of failures in micro-grids.
This research presents a method to detect
failures in the power elements that integrate
the voltage converters. The proposal
employs Park’s transform and vectorial
analysis. In order to probe the method, the
authors employ scenarios and four kinds of
operation. They allow to test the proper
functioning of the present proposal. They
also probe the usage of mentioned vectorial
analysis. Thus, it is obtained a capable
instrument to detect and identify internal
failures. The failures occur in the
conversion systems that are associated with
photovoltaic generators. Both tasks are
executed when current signals are analyzed.
The obtained results have been generated,
proven and analyzed through Matlab and
Simulink software. The gathered results
come from a micro-grid model.
