LiDAR technology is having a constant progressive advancement in the automotive field, especially in autonomous cars, being the automotive industry the one that has been incorporating this kind of LiDAR (Light Detector and Ranging) laser sensors for object recognition applications (road) thanks to the benefits it contributes. The present work focuses on identifying the best road object detection algorithm through comparative models for an effective recognition of the elements in the 3D LiDAR laser camera, through an analysis of road recognition algorithms using scientific journals and KITTI repository for the selection of the best algorithm, focusing especially on the PLDAR and SNE-RoadSeg algorithms for detection performance in terms of accuracy and maximum mean as comparative metrics.
