dc.description.abstractIn this work, the levels of 226Ra contained in the bones-organs and muscular tissue of the rainbow trout, in macroinvertebrates, as well as in the water of the Irquis and Portete rivers respectively, were determined. Two measurement techniques were used, such as the Lucas cell scintillation and Can Technique with LR-115 type II detectors. It was obtained that the levels of this radionuclide in the matrices analyzed were within and below the world averages, so they don't present risks for the biota and health of the surrounding communities of the Loma Larga mining project.
