Resumen
It’s necessary to raise awareness on the tendency to suppress or change the cultural features of Ecuador for other foreign cultural meanings, inside the educational field. And how this results in the lack of identification of ecuadorian cultures in the entire society.
This is the mean reason for the educational cultural work carried out by the production team of the Salesian Polytechnic University (ups), through a coverage carried out in the northern area of Esmeraldas-Ecuador. In this coverage, the production team interviewed Guillermo Ayoví Erazo or “Papá Roncón” (his nickname in the artistic world) and visited the most important places in the life of this character. Based on this material, this communication product has been produced, in a collectible shave format.
This product will focus on the life of this iconic character of the afro-ecuadorian people, whose origins have an active conflict in the development of their culture. This educational and biographical material will serve communities, colleges, and universities to keep the history of afro-ecuadorians alive. Through these pages, Papá Roncón’s autobiography will be released. He will tell how his life began in this cultural environment and how his love for the marimba was born, an instrument that allowed him to win some international recognition.
