Resumen
The successful management of a family business is an act of balance that must reconcile the strategic interests of family, business and market forces. Families that run businesses often have their own challenges and risks, especially when they decide to grow, seeking financing through the stock market. Corporate governance is a system that directs and controls companies in which shareholders, owners and investors interact. It's purpose is to optimize the performance of the company with greater transparency and efficiency. A family company is determined like this if the percentage of capital is greater than 50% plus 1 as long as it belongs to the same family. Currently there are 307 companies listed on the Stock Exchange of Ecuador of which 64% are family.
