In the present work, the D-STATCOM Multilevel Cascade Inverter model is implemented by basing the control on the Synchronous Reference Frame strategy to reduce the current total harmonic distortion. This current harmonic distortion is produced by the presence of a nonlinear load connected to the analysis bus. The harmonic content of the network is evaluated before and after implementing the compensation, with ranges of connection and disconnection times of the compensator, in order to differentiate between distorted waveforms and perfect sine waves and establish the performance of the strategy. To carry out the development, simulation and analysis of the results of this research, the MATLAB and Simulink platform will be used, in addition to the MLI D- STATCOM will be implemented in the IEEE test distribution system of 13 unbalanced bars. The results obtained with the compensation in the analysis bus, show a THDi reduction of about 97%, thus improving the power quality in the presence of nonlinear loads.
