Resumen
The current work refers to how the textbook of Social Sciences is used in the design
and development of the Mercedaria Patria physical school curriculum, with fourth year
students, with the model that the institution manages. The educational center is located
on Venezuela streets between Esmeraldas and Oriente in the historic center of the
Metropolitan District of Quito (DMQ). Through direct observation to the teacher, it
was found that the reality is different when transmitting knowledge within the
classroom. The constructivist model they are applying does not always capture it. With
the authorization of the Director of the institution, the documents were accessed to
verify whether there is coherence between what is presented in the national curriculum
and the text of the Santillana publishing house. The model that works the school is
shaping the learning from the first actors that are the children with the teachers. In the
investigation, the method and methodologies used during the collection of data from
the investigation worked were pointed out, the field record that helped me clearly
identify each class was handled. Finally, a writing was made, analysis of findings that
guide and help to establish with precision the activities that the teacher carries out with
the proposals of the curriculum and if they are linked to the constructivist model of the
School and the Basic Education curriculum.
