Technological advances in the industry, is focused on energy savings for process control and environmental care when it comes to production processes. This project is based on the study of energy savings that can occur in a pumping system when the flow control is done by a manual throttling valve or a variable speed and thus assess which method th e savings achieved. For the study of it has been divided into four chapters, which are detailed topics necessary for study. • Chapter I develops the necessary theoretical framework in which the following chapters for the design and construction, analysis and performance tests and instructive is based. • Chapter II corresponds to the mechanical and hydraulic redesign of a pumping system in this all mathematical and engineering for the design and selection of components and manufacturing materials for further detailed development. • Chapter III focuses on testing machine operation and thus makes a comparison of actual data versus the theoretical data concluding with the analysis of results and percentage of error that can occur in the system. • Chapter IV details the resources used to produce the redesign of existing test bench in the laboratory of fluid mechanics in order to optimize it for future test runs according to the purpose that has the redesign.
