Resumen
This work analyzes the journalistic language used in the media in the face of the health pandemic generated by the new strain of SARS-CoV2, called Corona Virus Disease 2019 = COVID19.
The research sample was extracted from one of Ecuador's most popular and reference newscasts, Televistazo. It is broadcast on the Ecuavisa open television network. The time period analyzed is between the days the mandatory isolation began in Ecuador due to the health emergency, that is, March 12, 2020 until April 12, 2020, one month after the Covid-19 emergency.
For this, Gonzalo Martín Vivaldi and his studies on the writing style for journalism are taken as a theoretical framework. In the same way, an investigation is carried out on current approaches to the management of journalistic language within communication for Public Health and the chronology of information prepared by the Ecuavisa around evolutionary development of COVID-19 in Ecuador is described.
The results point towards the use of a clear, concise, precise and simple journalistic language that allows a total understanding by the recipient of the news.
