Resumen
The objective of this research is to be able to identify the effects of Article 20 of the Organic Law of Humanitarian Support to Combat the Health Crisis Derived from COVID-19, referring to the emergent reduction of working hours, applied to textile companies, in Calderón, D.M. Quito.
A field investigation was carried out in 12 selected companies, to which a survey was applied in which it was obtained as a result that, as a consequence of the application of this standard in companies, the following effects are produced: lower productivity, as well as the decrease in income and expenses of organizations dedicated to the production and sale in Textile Companies.
The application of this emerging Law affected the entire Productive Sector; According to the information obtained, a high percentage of the companies had to reduce their staff; and, others found it necessary to make a 180 degree turn in their productive approach, changing their line with respect to the elaboration of their products: such is the case of several companies that were dedicated to producing masks, biosecurity garments among others, being its usual production of clothing; all this in an effort to try to reduce the adverse effects on its economy and the closure of companies.
