Resumen
This article has the purpose of investigating, from a gender perspective, the practice of sports journalism and the way it is established in a sphere of masculinity, as it is an area that has long been dominated by men, and in the fact that the presence of women has often been questioned and discriminated against in various activities that link to this space. That is why this work seeks to explain whether there is a certain oppression and rejection of journalists who practice sports journalism both on radio and on TV, based on a specific case.
Although it is true that women began to be included in sports journalism, it is also important to recognize that their incorporation was done from the male perspective, fundamentally to cover a market need, that is, to play a role designed with a purpose in the world of sport, a world of and for men, a world with an androcentric vision.
Despite this situation, some women are entering this field of journalism because they like it, because they have the skills and because their professional presence there is seen as a form of resistance, to the androcentric vision that persists for decades.
It remains then, with previous studies and ratified with this work, that women continue to be relegated to minority roles than those performed by men, that is, their presence is not considered in spaces for debate and sports opinion, therefore their intervention does not have Great value. To demonstrate this, this study deepened the case of discrimination suffered by Soledad Rodríguez, a sports journalist.
