The current report supports in a theoretical and methodological way the realization of a photographic book that aims to relate the field of popular communication with art, understanding the first as a dialogical process, with class commitment, which has as protagonists the oppressed sectors of the society regarding the problematization and the change of the reality within their own contexts; while the second constitutes an immanently communicative and aesthetic practice that makes possible the transformation of the system through the taking of position on the injustices to make people aware and to encourage their collective organization against the hegemonic power in order to enhance their way of living. This link will be evidenced in the case study that focuses on the practices of the “Asociación de Centros Culturales Arte y Libertad” with incidence in the Quito neighborhood of Santa Rita, which directly criticize the capitalist system, its dominant way of educating and interpreting reality. The purpose is to capture a communicative product attached to a dialogical methodology that registers these experiences in Ecuador and is returned as a contribution to the organization.
