Resumen
This work consists of the production of a documentary video, showing the reality of children who have been diagnosed with various types of leukemia; the importance of bone marrow transplantation and the need for the creation of the national register of bone marrow altruistic donors in the country. The documentary will be named "Heartbeats of Hope", as it is the antithesis of the problem of a catastrophic disease, which shows the need for children with leukemias (relapses) in the absence of compatible donors, and the impact of immediate and optimal transplantation on the lives of these patients when obtaining a cure.
From the audiovisual narrative, the topics that encompass the disease, symptoms, medical and social aspects are externalized through interviews with family members, who from their own experience tell us what leukemia means to them?, What is the change that the family is going through when receiving the news that a child has this disease?; Within this scenario hematologist doctors under his professional perspective explain What is leukemia?, types and protocols of treatment, How is the need for a marrow transplant born?, necessary care for the patient and in what cases bone marrow donation is necessary?, explaining the importance of finding compatible donors and getting the definitive cure of this disease.
From the academy I aspire to explain how communication can get involved and increase social awareness.
