dc.description.abstractThis article examines how in the communication systems the noise causes a deterioration to the transmitted signal, where is demonstrated in the receiver output of digital radio, caused by the interference of external signals causing loss of information, with the objective of get noise reduction in an audio signal a model was developed in the DAB system (Digital Audio Broadcasting) using a filter based on the DWT (Discrete Wavelet Transform) with the Daubechies db4 wavelet. The audio signal is compared that has passed by the communications channel and the filtered signal to determine the quality of the signal after filtering by the mean square error (MSE) and the relationship between the energy consumed per bit to the noise density (Eb/No). In addition, the BER (Bit Error Rate) and the signal to noise ratio (SNR) have been calculated, which indicates that the audio signal is quite clear for the perception of the human ear, getting an error rate of 5.1403%. between the source signal and the filtered signal.
