Resumen
This thesis addresses the theme of children's literature, in which they are shown
its general concepts and characteristics such as its origin, classes, genres, functions
among other important aspects.
In addition, the characteristics of children 5 and 6 years old are determined.
specifically what concerns the motor, cognitive, language and socio-affective areas.
We also investigated about the literary requirements presented by the
Children of this age, according to their psychological development.
A field investigation was carried out in two educational establishments of the
Quito City, Andean Educational Unit and Eloy Alfaro Fiscal School, where
a comparative study was carried out between the two institutions, in order to verify
how children's literature is addressed in the First Years of Basic.
The theory of Jean Piaget has been taken as a basis for the execution of this thesis,
since the author in his studies on cognitive development discloses the
own characteristics that identify the child in each evolutionary stage, which is
important to know, because this will determine if the good management of literature
Infant or not influences the development of the First Year Child of Basic Education.
